To the Tables Down at Mory’s: The Yale Whiffenpoofs
The world’s oldest collegiate a cappella group, the Yale Whiffenpoofs, joins us for a festive Sunday afternoon concert. Founded in 1909, the Whiffenpoofs began as a senior quartet, meeting for weekly concerts at Mory’s Temple Bar, the famous Yale tavern. Today, the 100-year-old group, one of Yale’s most celebrated traditions, performs 200 concerts each year on stages across the globe. Singing a mixture of old Yale tunes, jazz standards, and hits from across the decades and donning their characteristic white tie and tails, the Whiffenpoofs have become fan favorites for audiences from New Haven to San Francisco and Bangkok to Sydney.
