Essex Meadows Scholarship Foundation, Inc., is a tax exempt organization founded by the residents of Essex Meadows to provide annual scholarship assistance to employees and their children. Established in 1993, the Foundation has awarded more than 400 grants totaling more than $1,250,000 since its inception.

The income of the Foundation is derived solely from voluntary donations from the residents of Essex Meadows and memorial gifts from their families and friends. Since the Foundation has received tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service, all donations to the Foundation may be deducted from income for tax purposes.

Applicants must be high school graduates pursuing an undergraduate four-year degree, two-year degree, or licensed vocational training and are required to complete an application which is carefully reviewed by the Foundation Trustees. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and financial need, and the awards are sent directly to colleges/institutions.

How can you help this worthy cause?

Contributions from Essex Meadows residents are solicited annually each May. The Leadership Group of residents supports the scholarship program with gifts of $1.00 or more. Another group, the Sustaining Members, contribute $500 to $1,000 each year. However, high resident participation in this program remains the goal, and the Foundation encourages and appreciates year-round contributions of any size as well as memorial gifts. All contributions are tax deductible as the fund is an approved 501(c)(3).
