Bird Walk

Join Jim Denham, Essex Land Trust member and birder, for a walk through the woods at Essex Meadows, where we will explore the peak bird migration and breeding season. You will see and hear dozens of species who make their homes in this beautiful and very diverse landscape. All levels of knowledge are welcome. Bad weather cancels.

The Essex Land Trust is dedicated to preserving and enhancing open space and natural resources for the benefit of future generations. Currently celebrating its 50th year, the Essex Land Trust actively manages 900 acres of town open space and owns 23 preserves, featuring more than 55 well-maintained trails. We thank the members of the Land Trust for their work to protect and preserve our town’s natural treasures.

During a 1 1/2 hour bird walk through the woods at the peak of the spring bird-watching period, Jim will identify species as participants see and hear some of the countless species that live in this diverse landscape. All levels of knowledge are welcome.

Participants should expect easy to moderate walking on the trails.
