A Place Called Hope

Join experts from A Place Called Hope for a rare, up-close encounter with fascinating and elusive birds of prey. A raptor rehabilitation and education center specializing in the rescue and care of Connecticut’s injured, orphaned, or ill birds of prey, this volunteer-based organization is dedicated to preserving wildlife for the future by protecting wild raptor species and promoting an understanding of how we, as humans, can lessen conflicts with wildlife in our own backyards. Handlers will introduce raptor species as each bird shares its own personal story of survival. A $10 tax deductible donation to the Essex Land Trust is suggested.
Presented as part of
The Essex Land Trust Partnership Program
The Essex Land Trust acquires and preserves open space to protect the environment and the small town character of the villages of Essex, Centerbrook and Ivoryton and provides the community with passive recreational and educational opportunities. The land trust’s vision is to preserve and enhance the community’s open space and natural resources for the benefit of future generations.
